The Nursery
A beating heart of 4,000 square meters
The Olivi Busdraghi nursery extends across Tuscany over a cultivated area of approximately 4,000 m², entirely dedicated to the growth and selection of plants.
Located in the area of Pescia, in the province of Pistoia, a territory historically renowned for its nursery tradition, the nursery represents a highly controlled production centre.
All phases of the production cycle take place directly in-house, under the supervision of Massimo Busdraghi.
The olive trees are cultivated exclusively in pots, a technique that allows:
- better root development
- greater plant resistance
- ease of transplanting at any time of year
Phytosanitary safety and certifications
In the olive growing sector, plant phytosanitary safety is fundamental.
Our nursery operates under the supervision of the Regional Phytosanitary Service, guaranteeing plants that are healthy and free from pathogens, with particular attention to the prevention of Xylella fastidiosa.
We follow rigorous protocols that include:
- periodic checks
- soil analysis
- verification of propagation material
Production cycle and clientele
The nursery’s annual production comprises on average:
- 35,000 – 40,000 two-year-old plants
- approximately 100,000 one-year-old plants
